Desk · software you run yourself

A guarded crypto trading desk you run on your own VPS

The guardrail layer we built to run our own desk around the clock: a watchdog, pre-trade guardrails, a risk budget, a drawdown ladder, a kill switch only you can re-arm, a log of every rejected order, and a dashboard. You bring the strategy settings and the exchange account. We sell the software; you are the trader.

The guardrail layer

Watchdog

Checks the desk every 60 seconds. If the service crashes, it is restarted 5 seconds later.

Pre-trade guardrails

Every order must pass your daily loss limit, trades-per-session cap, open-position limit, cooldown, per-trade loss limit and symbol watch list.

Risk budget

Total risk across open positions, plus the new one, must stay within the share of the account you set. Otherwise the order is skipped.

Drawdown ladder

Measured from the peak: full size, then half size, then no new entries. A deeper limit closes everything and stops the desk.

Kill switch, human re-arm

A stop file or a one-word stop from you halts the desk. Other agents cannot trip or clear it. Only you can re-arm it.

Rejection log

Every order a guardrail refuses is written down with the reason, so you can see exactly what the desk would not do and why.

Dashboard

A live page with the desk state and its positions, served from your own server.

How it runs on our own desk: case study.

Free: agent trading desk safety checklist

Ten checks from the ledger where our desk turns each lesson into a guardrail.

  1. A drawdown halt measured from the high-water mark, sized so normal swings do not trip it.
  2. Config that fails safe: a missing or broken file falls back to the narrowest setting, never the widest.
  3. Deterministic code places orders; the AI model may judge and observe, but never trades directly.
  4. Model choice and check frequency are settings, so a busy observer cannot burn your AI budget.
  5. A give-back breaker: stop new entries once the day falls a set amount below its own peak, not only below zero.
  6. No two open positions riding the same move.
  7. Re-screen positions you already hold, not only new entries.
  8. Pin the safety settings you have proven, so automatic tuning cannot quietly revert them.
  9. Tuned settings move only on clear, out-of-sample evidence, never to the best number of one window.
  10. Nothing reaches live mode until it passes a written promotion bar.

What this is, and is not

  • Software only. It is not investment advice, and we do not provide trading signals or recommended trades.
  • You supply and edit the strategy settings, and you switch on live mode yourself. Example settings run in paper mode only.
  • We make no claims about performance. Trading crypto, especially with leverage, can lose all of the money you put in.
  • We hold no money and no keys. The desk runs on your server with your exchange account. No managed accounts, no profit share.
  • Software can contain bugs. Test in paper mode first.
  • Not offered to UK retail customers for crypto derivatives, or to US retail customers on offshore perpetual-futures venues.
